Dental Braces – The Tried-and-True Orthodontics Treatment
Dental Braces or Fixed braces have been the go-to orthodontic option for many years. They are a tried-and-true method for straightening teeth and correcting bite issues. While there are newer alternatives available, fixed braces continue to be popular due to their affordability, effectiveness, and versatility.
How Does Fixed Braces Work?
Small brackets are attached to the front surface of each tooth using a special adhesive. These brackets serve as anchors for the braces. A wire, known as the Archwire, is threaded through the brackets. It connects all the brackets and applies pressure to the teeth. In some types of braces, elastic bands (O-ring) or ligatures are used to further apply pressure and guide the movement of specific teeth. These bands are changed regularly during adjustments.
