A Premolar (middle) tooth whose nerve has been infected by bacteria may need root canal treatment. The dentist will remove the infected tooth nerve, clean the inside of the tooth and insert filler and top it with a crown or filler. If a crown is necessary then a dental lab will produce it after a few days. The treated tooth can survive for many years after treatment.
[1] At least two visits are required to Bangkok New Smile. A mold is taken of the tooth or teeth during the first visit. From this mold, the crown or veneer is made at our dental lab. On the second visit, the crown or veneer is fitted to the tooth or teeth. Following visits may be needed if adjustments to the fitting are needed or there are complications.

An injection of no vaccine can be used before any potentially painful treatment is undertaken.
Glass Ionomer Filler is most commonly used as cementation for inlay fillings, but it also is used for fillings in front teeth or to fill areas around the sides of your teeth or on their roots. As filling material, glass ionomer is typically used in people with a lot of decay in the part of the tooth that extends below the gum (root caries). It is also used for filling baby teeth and as a liner for other types of fillings.
If the patient has a deep cavity that is close to the tooth nerve, a temporary filler may be done to stabilize the tooth before any other procedures are done such as a crown.
When the space (gap) between incisors or other teeth is too wide the gap can be corrected to make it more attractive. Composite Resin can be used because it is strong and durable but also can be done in a single visit to the dental clinic.
Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings that are applied to the grooves on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to protect them from tooth decay. Most tooth decay in children and teens occurs on these surfaces. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces from tooth decay by keeping germs and food particles out of these grooves.
Inlays and Onlays are used when the cavity is too big for composite resin made of Amalgam filler but too small for a crown (whole tooth surface replacement). They can be made from gold, ceramic or composite material. Inlays and Onlays require a tooth impression and lab work. They are attached using dental glue.
Amalgam filler (silver color) is used to fill large cavities and biting surfaces where there is strong contact between teeth. It is stronger than composite resin.
Composite resin filler is used to fill cavities. It is strong and durable and can be mixed to appear as the same color as the surrounding tooth.
Root planing is a procedure that is designed to clean areas of tooth that can’t be reached using scaling and polishing or the Air Flow procedure. This procedure is commonly used in patients who have periodontal disease (gum and bone disease). Sometimes patients will need an injection (shot) for pain relief.
Air flow polishing is a procedure used to remove stubborn tooth stains such as coffee, tea, and tartar (smokers stain). Water, air and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) are forced through a small nozzle to make a powerful jet which can remove difficult stains and reach areas around the tooth that can’t be cleaned using scaling and polishing.
Scaling and Polishing of teeth includes routine cleaning and plaque removal in order to prevent gingivitis (gum disease) and periodontitis (gum and bone disease).
Intra-Oral X-Rays provide a detailed view of the tooth from crown to root and are usually used to view individual teeth.
Cephalometric X-Rays provide a profile (side) view of the patients skull and face. They are excellent in evaluating orthodontic patients.
Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Your doctor may use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
Panoramic X-Rays provide a full view of the mouth with enough detail to see cavities, jaw-bone, and tooth arrangement.
A dental examination consists of verifying the state of the teeth and oral structures by your dentist. Your dentist may recommend further treatment if necessary.
If the patient doesn’t enough sufficient tooth anchorage a mini screw can be inserted into the bone to provide an anchor. Orthodontic appliances are attached to the mini screw for the duration of the treatment. The mini screw will be removed at completion of treatment.
A Night Guard is a custom made hard resin dental tray used to protect teeth from abrasion and grinding at night while the patient sleeps.
A Metal Wire Retainer is a removable orthodontic appliance used after other orthodontic is completed. It fits like a tray either on the top or bottom of your mouth and is used to prevent teeth from returning to their uncorrected position. Patients can choose the color of the retainer and it’s made from metal wire and acryllic.

Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.
The Clear Aligner is an orthodontic appliance used for minor tooth movement. It’s custom made from clear plastic and is strong and durable. It resembles a dental tray but is harder. It can be removed at any time during the treatment period to eat or whenever you want. This aligner is designed for the unique contours of your teeth and mouth so it won’t cause irriation to your mouth tissue.
